Time to pull the plug on the Ichiro experiment

Manager Eric Wedge has made it abundantly clear that Ichiro isn’t producing enough runs while hitting third in the Mariners’ lineup.
“We have got to have more out of the three hole hitter, especially a veteran guy with all these young kids surrounding him. That’s the bottom line. If not, we are going to have to make a change,” Wedge said Thursday morning, a day after Ichiro went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position.
Ichiro then went 0-for-6 in Thursday’s 6-5 loss, coming up hitless all for times he had runners in scoring position.
