How much would Seahawks miss Lynch in opener?

Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch told reporters on Wednesday that he’s been impressed by what he’s seen from his backup, rookie Robert Turbin.

“I like how much of a pro he is already … being in his first year,” Lynch said.

“It’s almost the same with how I’ve seen Russell Wilson. Turbin comes in on his day off as well and he’s real active in meetings, asking a lot of questions that you don’t think rookies would even know. So he’s showing a lot, but also on the field, his toughness, the way that he runs, the way he picks up pass protections. He’s showing that he’s a complete back.”

The Seahawks drafted Turbin in the fourth round so their offense could still have a physical runner when Lynch came off the field. With Lynch’s status for Sunday’s regular-season opener at Arizona uncertain due to back spasms, Turbin could go from backup to starter.

How much of a concern should this be? Bob Stelton and Dave Grosby discuss that question in the video below.

You can listen to Wednesday’s podcast here.
