Seahawks offensive lineman James Carpenter is likely to be a full participant in practice this week and potentially could play this Sunday in St. Louis.
Carroll said Wednesday that Carpenter is finally “back to life” since his season-ending knee injury last November. Carpenter, who has yet to see a game this season, has been slowly eased back into the practice routine and is now expected to work a full load. He will move to left guard after playing right tackle last season.
Neither offensive tackle Breno Giacomini (pectoral) nor guard John Moffitt (knee) were participants in Wednesday’s practice. Defensive end Greg Scruggs was also sidelined with a wrist injury sustained Monday night against the Packers. Carroll reported no other significant injuries and no players were limited in their Wednesday workouts.
Wide receiver Doug Baldwin has returned after missing Monday’s game with a shoulder injury. Carroll said Baldwin had “banged it up” the week before in practice but had been hoping to play. Cornerback Byron Maxwell, out last week with a hamstring injury, returned to practice on Wednesday as well.
The Seahawks practice Thursday and Friday before hitting the road to face the Rams on Sunday.
Wednesday’s practice report:
DID NOT PARTICIPATE: T Breno Giacomini (pectoral), G John Moffitt (knee) and DT Gregg Scruggs (wrist).
LIMITED PARTICIPANTS: None.
FULL PRACTICE: WR Doug Baldwin (shoulder) and CB Byron Maxwell (hamstring).
