With the first roster deadline a day away, the Seahawks announced Monday that the team has cut eight players.
Offensive tackle Wade Smith and cornerback Terrell Thomas were released, while six others were waived: offensive tackle Cory Brandon, running back Demitrius Bronson, safety Mike Dobson, defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat, wide receiver Kevin Smith and cornerback Thomas Wolfe.
Wade Smith and Thomas were vested veterans, so they immediately become free agents. The others are subject to waivers.
The Seahawks must cut seven more players to reach the league-mandated roster limit of 75 by 1 p.m. Tuesday.
