M’s look like winning team despite the naysayers

While there’s plenty of hope the Mariners will be an improved squad in 2013, not everyone shares the optimism. Wednesday on the Bob and Groz show, Dave Cameron with U.S.S. Mariner.com told the guys he doesn’t expect any significant improvement over last year’s team.

Cameron says while the addition of Kendrys Morales and Michael Morse give the offense some extra pop, it’s not enough to offset what he sees as a defensive drop off with Morse’s limited outfield range and a pitching staff he believes is no better.

But Bob and Groz strongly disagree.

“I see a team, that on paper anyway, it looks significantly improved on offense and little change on defense and pitching staff,” Groz insists in today’s post-show video recap below.

Bob is even more optimistic, saying he’ll be disappointed if the Mariners don’t at least finish above .500, and perhaps even better.
