LISTEN: What Seahawks position faces the toughest matchup on Sunday against the Eagles?

The Seahawks linebackers will face their most difficult matchup in Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, said 710 ESPN Seattle’s Brock Huard on his Blue 42 segment of Brock and Salk.

“To me, the linebackers in this matchup, with four unique running backs, with a zone read, with a running quarterback, at the level they have to play on every single play and to execute, they cannot take a play off,” Huard said. “Not with some of the burden in coverage that they’re going to have around them as well.”

As a team, the Eagles boast the third most rushing yards in the NFL this season (1,622) and the fourth most yards overall (4,196). Philadelphia quarterback Carson Wentz is in the mix for the league MVP, and is a threat to run the ball on his own. With 253 rushing yards this season, he’ll have to be contained as well.

“At the end of the day, teams that win championships, they run the ball and they play great defense,” Huard said. “Those are two things that Philadelphia is doing very well, because off that run becomes a play pass, and off that run becomes a movement by the quarterback. All of those things do burden Bobby (Wagner) and K.J. (Wright) and that second level.”
