RENTON – Footwork was the first thing out of Russell Wilson’s mouth when the Seahawks quarterback was asked a few weeks back about what he’s focusing on improving in his second NFL season.
“Being at the Pro Bowl with guys like Drew Brees and Peyton Manning and talking to other players as well and asking them questions, the biggest thing that they said took their game to another level was just their footwork, how they worked on it every single morning, every single day,” Wilson told “Brock and Danny” in April.
It was also the first thing out of coach Pete Carroll’s mouth when he shared his observations of Wilson following the Seahawks’ latest organized team activity.
“His footwork is so clean now,” Carroll told “Bob and Groz” on Monday. “He’s been able to have the time to focus on some more of the little things that he loves to focus on and he’s just getting sharper and sharper. All of his deliveries are beautiful, he can throw all of the throws in the offense and then, of course, he can create the crazy things he’s got to do running around, too. But he has really honed in on the footwork stuff.”
Bob Stelton and Dave Grosby share their thoughts on the matter in the video below.
