Chalk Talk: K.J. Wright enables David Hawthorne’s INT
By Brady Henderson
At 6 feet 4 inches tall, K.J. Wright has uncommon length for an NFL linebacker.
He’s also been praised by coach Pete Carroll for his intelligence and ability to learn quickly, evident in the Seahawks’ willingness to throw him into the starting lineup three weeks into his rookie season, even at a position different from the one he played during training camp.
Those traits were on display during the third quarter of Seattle’s win over Baltimore on Sunday. As Brock Huard explains in this week’s edition of Chalk Talk, that’s when Wright’s awareness and length allowed him to tip a Joe Flacco pass that was intercepted by David Hawthorne.
