Mother nature allowed the Seahawks to get outside for their Friday afternoon practice.

Cornerback Walter Thurmond is the only player ruled out for Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Rams at CenturyLink Field. Coach Pete Carroll said Thurmond is still not able to completely push off because of his lingering hamstring injury.

Linebacker Leroy Hill has also been bothered by a hamstring injury and is on the questionable list. Carroll said they will test Hill out again on Saturday. Right tackle Breno Giacomini is also listed as questionable with an elbow injury.

Veteran cornerback Marcus Trufant had a good week of practice as he battles back from a lingering hamstring issue. Carroll won’t hesitate to use youngsters Jeremy Lane and Byron Maxwell in nickel coverages.

Carroll said his team is fortunate to have a meaningful game this weekend. A Seattle victory over St. Louis coupled with a San Francisco loss to Arizona would give the Seahawks the division title. Carroll said it’s also a big deal to go undefeated at home this season. The Seahawks are 7-0 at CenturyLink Field.

“Heck yeah it is,” Carroll said after practice. “If you want to be a championship team you have to dominate at home. There is no other way to get it done. We have a wonderful factor here with Seahawks, we really do.”

Carroll expects Seattle’s offensive line to face extreme pressure from a Rams defense which has piled up 46 sacks so far this season. Carroll expects rookie guard J.R. Sweezy to be much better prepared for that pressure than earlier this season when he struggled.

The club made another roster move, releasing cornerback Ron Parker and signing receiver Deon Butler again. Seattle had released Butler on Dec. 24 after he played in just one game.
