Bobby Wagner finished seventh in the NFL in tackles last season with 140 and added a pair of sacks and three interceptions while playing middle linebacker on the league’s best scoring defense.

And to think he was a rookie, swimming in a sea in information as he transitioned from a relatively simple defense at Utah State to being Seattle’s man in the middle.

Consider him miles ahead of where he was mentally at this point a year ago.

“It’s a lot different. My head last year was probably all over this place,” Wagner told “Bob and Groz” on 710 ESPN Seattle on Monday. “This year it’s more calmed down. I see stuff a lot clearer, stuff that I didn’t see last year. The game’s beginning to slow down. I’m beginning to make the plays and all the stuff that I want to do.”

Wagner had a diving interception on a pass he tipped and led the Seahawks with nine tackles in their Week 3 win over Jacksonville.

In the video below, Bob Stelton and Dave Grosby share additional thoughts on Wagner’s big game and the development he’s showing in his second season.
