Seahawks right guard J.R. Sweezy won’t practice Friday as he recovers from a concussion that will likely keep him from playing Sunday against Arizona.

Sweezy sustained the concussion last week against the Giants. He practiced Wednesday but sat out Thursday.

“It’s not looking too good for him,” coach Pete Carroll told “The Morning News” on KIRO Radio 97.3 FM Friday.

Seattle has options at right guard in Sweezy’s absence. Perhaps the most likely is Paul McQuistan, who’s been playing behind James Carpenter at left guard after starting earlier this season at left tackle.

Carroll was more optimistic about cornerback Jeremy Lane’s chances of playing Sunday despite an ankle injury. Lane did not practice Thursday.

“We’ll find out with Jeremy in the morning here,” Carroll said. “It’s not bad. He went through the walk-throughs and all that stuff. We were resting him yesterday. It’s just a sore ankle.”
