LISTEN:

They’re young but some of the Seahawks are already veterans.

“It sounds kind of like an oxymoron,” tight end Luke Willson told Brian Moote and Terry Hollimon on KIRO Radio’s Jason Rantz Show.

Moote agreed. Not every team has a bunch of young players who have played in two back-to-back Super Bowls and who have been consistently making it to the playoffs.

And the team’s success might come down to one thing: dedication no matter what the stage is.

“Every game, every practice, you have to have the same mentality,” Willson explained.

Right now, the Seahawks are working the rust off &#8212 if there is any left &#8212 at training camp. Willson told Moote and Hollimon that he already feels good about the season, despite the general soreness that is creeping back into his body.

“Emotions are high and we’re ready to go,” he said.

It’s difficult to pick a player who will stand out more than others right now. However, Willson said Jimmy Graham brings a lot of promise to the team. Graham, the tight end traded from the New Orleans Saints, might still be figuring out how he fits into the Seahawks’ dynamic, but Willson believes he will “open up a lot of windows for a lot of players.”

Willson described Graham as down-to-earth and an extremely hard worker with a good attitude. It’s a good thing for a young player who is building his reputation with an oxymoron of a team.
