The NFL’s regular season schedule, released Wednesday, has the Seahawks with four prime-time games and a Week 1 game at home for the first time since 2016. The Seahawks will face stiff competition with games against the New Orleans Saints (Week 3) and NFC champion Los Angeles Rams (Weeks 5 and 14), but those aren’t the contests 710 ESPN Seattle’s Brock Huard points to when he considers the toughest stretch on Seattle’s schedule.

Wilson hopes to spend career in Seattle: ‘I want to be a Seahawk for life’

“I’m really torn here, but ultimately, I’m going to say Week 10 at San Francisco right before the bye,” Huard said during his Blue 42 segment of Brock and Salk. “You lost down in San Francisco last year to Nick Mullens. That is a team with Jimmy Garoppolo, and that’s a team that’s probably going to add Nick Bosa. They only have, I believe, five picks in this draft so they have some needs to fill. But I think that is a crew that believes they are ascending — that has played pretty well against you, even with some of the scrubs that they’ve had at times and some of the injuries. And last year they beat you down there in their place.

“So to me, right before the bye, that’s a huge one, as is the trip to Philadelphia off of the bye. I would put those two road trips, sandwiched with the bye right in between, right near the top of the list. Then obviously if you want to win the NFC West, something you did not do a year ago, you’ve got to beat the Rams either at home or away.”

Huard also talks about the team he believes has the toughest schedule overall, and who has been the latest player mocked to Seattle in next week’s draft. You can hear those answers in the audio embedded above or on the Blue 42 podcast page. Hear Brock Huard answer three football questions every morning at 7:45 a.m. during Brock and Salk on 710 ESPN Seattle.
