With expectations sky high in Seattle, Seahawks tickets for home games are averaging $253, a staggering 49.93 percent increase from a year ago. With that in mind, let’s take a look at Seattle’s best and worst home games this season while comparing pricing:

Top three home games

• Sept. 15 vs. 49ers | Average: $480 | Get-in: $203

Let’s not get tricky. This is the home opener against the much-hated 49ers. These two teams don’t like each other, while both boast running quarterbacks, great rushing attacks and elite defenses. Even at a ridiculous 90 percent above the Seahawks’ home-game average, the pricing here is pretty understandable.

• Dec. 2 vs. Saints | Average: $321 | Get-in: $101

Anytime Drew Brees and the high-flying Saints come into town, you know you’ve got a show on your hands. That’s why fans won’t balk at the 27 percent uptick on the pricetag. With that said, Seattle has the defense to slow Brees and Co. down. With this one at home, the Seahawks still have the edge.

• Nov. 17 vs. Vikings | Average: $242 | Get-in: $88

Christian Ponder is no Drew Brees, but Adrian Peterson is hard to top in any regard. The Seahawks’ run defense will certainly be tested in this one, and with this game coming in at 4 percent under the home average, fans are getting an arguable steal.

Top three home-game value buys

• Sept. 22 vs. Jaguars | Average: $201 | Get-in: $78

The Jaguars stink and everyone knows it. Regardless of whom they toss in at quarterback, the Seahawks would have to be asleep to let Jacksonville march in and even make this game competitive. Look for Seattle to win easily in a bargain buy that comes in at 21 percent below Seattle’s home-game average.

• Nov. 3 vs. Buccaneers | Average: $217 | Get-in: $75

We know about Doug Martin and Vincent Jackson, but with cornerback Darrelle Revis now with Tampa Bay, this could be a tough opponent come November. It’s still not a likely loss at home, though, and it’s still a deal at 14 percent below the home average.

• Dec. 22 vs. Cardinals | Average: $221 | Get-in: $73

Last but certainly not least is a division battle against Carson Palmer, Larry Fitzgerald and the revamped Cardinals in Week 16. If the Cardinals end up being as good as they look on paper, this late-season meeting could have some playoff implications. If not, it’s still one of the least expensive games of the year at 13 percent below the Seahawks’ home-game average.
