Alaska Airlines debuts Russell Wilson plane, offers early boarding for fans

You frequently see Seahawks pictures on buses, but not as often on planes. That’s probably because it’s a bit difficult to see the picture when it’s 20,000 feet in the air. Those who squint, however, will soon be able to catch Russell Wilson’s head floating up high alongside the tagline, “Dream Big. Fly High.”

O’Neil: Dear Seahawks, play Earl Thomas right away in Week 1

Alaska Airlines rolled out their new Wilson plane on Wednesday, and is holding a tailgate celebration Friday to kick off the season.

If you happen to be flying to Denver on Flight 682, or want to book the flight just for the party, you’ll be treated to tailgate food, a live DJ and custom photo booth at Sea-Tac’s C gates. The other gates will just get CNN.

Alaska passengers who somehow remember to wear a Wilson jersey to the airport will also be granted early boarding on all Seattle departures throughout the football season. Whether that puts you ahead of other people that also get to board early remains to be seen.

Wilson has been partnered with Alaska for years, and helps the airline support education and charity programs, including Seattle Children’s hospital, where he visits patients during the season.

It’s been a big week for Russell Wilson’s face, what with the announcement that he’ll also be adorning the new Wheaties box. Those will be a lot easier to see.

Can DE Dion Jordan be ready for Seahawks’ opener in Denver?
