K.J. Wright...

Linebacker K.J. Wright joined the Player Spotlight on Wednesday and heard Jim Moore's confession over why he thought the Eagles would win.

LISTEN: Player Spotlight: K.J. Wright, Dec. 6, 2017

Jim Moore doesn’t have to tell every Seahawks player that joins the show for an interview that he expected the Seahawks to lose to the Eagles.

And he definitely doesn’t have to tell them how much he expected the Seahawks to lose by.

But Jim Moore has told every member of the Seahawks who has been featured in the Player Spotlight this week that he picked against the Seahawks.

O’Neil: Has Jimmy Graham been worth it for the Seahawks?

“What a loser,” joked J.D. McKissic.

“That’s fine, it’s your opinion,” said Sheldon Richardson.

On Wednesday, linebacker K.J. Wright had a question.

“Tell me why,” he said. “Let me hear this.”

“I thought without Kam (Chancellor), who might be a potential Hall of Famer,” Moore said. “You know that Richard Sherman is going to be in the Hall of Fame. Cliff Avril with his pass rush. Those are three Pro Bowl-type caliber guys. I just figured when you bring in back-ups you don’t get the same quality of play as you would with those three players.”

It’s an assessment that Wright and the rest of his team has heard before.

“Everybody is entitled to their opinion so let me ask you,” Wright said to Moore. “Kam went out, Bradley McDougald, heck of a football player. He has been one of the best coverage safeties, and tackling safeties. Sherm went down, (Byron) Maxwell stepped up. Cliff went down, Frank Clark — who is a monster — steps up.

“When guys go down, you lose that person, you lose that chemistry, that connection, but other guys definitely step up.”

It doesn’t hurt having five guys who are still playing for the defense this season who have been to a Pro Bowl: Earl Thomas, Bobby Wagner, Michael Bennett, Sheldon Richardson and Wright.

The linebacker who offered the warning that people were sleeping on the Seahawks says it’s OK for everyone to nod off again.

“I want people to stay asleep, man,” Wright said. “I kind of like it that way.”

Well, it’s going to be tougher for anyone to overlook Seattle the way its defense played against Philadelphia.
