Seahawks-Rams postponed to Tuesday due to L.A. COVID outbreak

The Seahawks will not be playing the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday as initially scheduled.

The Rams have 29 players currently on the reserve/COVID list, including cornerback Jalen Ramsey, receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and pass rusher Von Miller. As a result, the game has been pushed back two days to Tuesday, Dec. 21, the NFL announced Friday afternoon. The game is in Los Angeles and will kick off at 4 p.m. Pacific and will be on FOX.

The Seahawks also have players on the reserve/COVID list in star receiver Tyler Lockett and leading rusher Alex Collins, but those are currently the only two players who are on that list. They are also just the second and third players the Seahawks have had test positive for COVID-19 since the start of the 2020 season, along with tight end Gerald Everett who missed some time earlier this year due to positive tests.

The NFL is also moving two other games back on the calendar as well.

The Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders were scheduled to face off this Saturday, but the Browns are also in the midst of a major COVID outbreak with more than 20 players and coaches having tested positive. That game has been pushed back to Monday afternoon.

Additionally, the Washington Football Team was set to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, but Washington has nearly 20 players on the COVID list. That game, as well as the Seahawks-Rams game, will be played on Tuesday and will also kick off at 4 p.m.

The Seahawks’ next game against the Chicago Bears is still scheduled for next Sunday, Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times reports, so the Seahawks will have a short turnaround for that game. The Bears play on Monday night, so they will also have a short week, but that game was already on the schedule for Monday.
