A win to start the preseason!

I feel the Seahawks got pretty much what they wanted out of their first preseason game.
A win for one, but more importantly, some real game action where they got a long look at a lot of players.
The young guys certainly got a chance to shine and coming through were Josh Portis and Thomas Clayton for sure.
After a shaky start, Portis ended 5-9 with TD pass and QB rating of 117.4. Clayton beat up a few linebackers on his way to 16 carries for 62 yards and a 25 yd td run.
The defense put up a number of quality stops, including a forced fumble and recovery.
Charlie Whitehurst had a good game as the #2 QB, and starter Tavaris Jackson didn’t get to play much but showed some good signs for his first game.
Penalties were killing this team in the first half, and they allowed a couple sacks that derailed a drive.
But most encouraging is that the offense moved the ball nearly the entire game, piling up 22 first downs. That’s a very good sign.
