The Seahawks drafted Bruce Irvin as an eventual replacement for Chris Clemons.

In the meantime, they hoped the veteran defensive end would help mentor the 15th overall pick while the two played opposite each other.

That plan appears to be on hold now that Clemons, the team’s leading pass rusher the last two seasons, is unhappy with his deal. After sitting out the team’s mandatory minicamp last week and most of its organized team activities before that, Clemons has reportedly turned down the Seahawks’ offer of a three-year, $18 million deal.

Mike Sando, who covers the NFC West for ESPN.com, thinks Clemons has little leverage in this situation.

“I don’t think they’re panicking at all,” Sando told “Brock and Salk” on Monday. “I think they would like to take care of him to a reasonable degree, but they’re not going to go crazy money on it because he’s got a year left on his deal. Where’s he going to go? Is anyone else going to pay that kind of money?”

Brock Huard and Mike Salk share additional thoughts in Monday’s Wrap Up video.
