According to the report, Lynch’s attorney, Ivan Golde, entered the not-guilty pleas on his client’s behalf to the charges of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and driving while having a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher. Lynch was not required to appear in court.

Lynch was charged with DUI after he was arrested July 14 when the California Highway Patrol reported seeing Lynch weaving from lane to lane on Interstate 880 near his hometown of Oakland, Calif., twice nearly colliding with a different vehicle driving in an adjacent lane.

Golde told 710 ESPN Seattle last week that Lynch blew .08 – which is California’s legal limit – during a preliminary test at the scene shortly after he was pulled over. Golde said Lynch then blew above a .08 when he was retested at the jail. Because Lynch’s blood alcohol level had risen, Golde believes it was actually under the legal limit while Lynch was driving.

Last week Lynch issued an apology through the team for “the negative attention resulting from my recent actions.”
