Seahawks coach Pete Carroll shared some positive news Monday regarding two of the team’s biggest injury concerns, telling reporters he expects receiver Sidney Rice and left tackle Russell Okung to play next Monday against Green Bay.

Rice, already slowed in practice last week by a sore knee, left Sunday’s win over Dallas after taking a big hit, but Carroll said he “looked fine.”

Okung was inactive due to a bone bruise in his knee, a decision that was made after he wasn’t able to go through pregame warmups at full speed.

“He was close enough that he should be able to make it, particularly with the couple days here we can rest him,” Carroll said of Okung’s chances of playing against Green Bay. “He won’t have to practice until Thursday, so that will give him a good break.”

Tight end Zach Miller played through a sore foot on Sunday, but Carroll said he made it through the game fine.

Backup cornerback Byron Maxwell sustained what Carroll called a first-degree hamstring injury.

James Carpenter remains ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn ACL but is still a couple weeks away from playing, Carroll said. The plan is still to play Carpenter at left guard.
