Following a short one-hour walkthrough practice on Wednesday, the Seahawks packed up their bags for the flight to San Francisco and Thursday night’s game against the 49ers.
Coach Pete Carroll told reporters he couldn’t believe how fast the week flew by, joking, “I can’t believe that it’s already Saturday. The players have done a nice job preparing, about as best as you could hope for. Hopefully we have a nice smooth trip and get some rest there [San Francisco] tomorrow.”
Seattle had a similarly quick turnaround last year following a Thursday game against Philadelphia and Carroll said the team kept record of what worked well.
Other than sore muscles and bruises from Sunday’s game against New England, the team is very healthy. Safety Kam Chancellor’s ankle injury is much better and he will play, according to Carroll. Cornerback Byron Maxwell is listed as doubtful with a hamstring injury. Guard John Moffitt (knee) is the only Seahawk ruled out of the game.
Carroll said his team is facing a very good opponent on the road, where the Seahawks have not played as well. Taking care of the football and matching the 49ers’ intensity, Carroll said,
will be keys to coming away with a win at Candlestick Park.
