Seahawks’ Gus Bradley to interview with Eagles

Back in May, Brock Huard said he expects Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley to be an NFL head coach within the next few years.

That is one step closer to happening now that it appears Bradley is a candidate for the Eagles’ head-coaching job. The Eagles announced Friday that they’ve received permission to interview Bradley. That would presumably take place next week, as teams cannot hold interviews this week with assistant coaches whose teams are playing in the wildcard round.

Bradley has been Seattle’s defensive coordinator since 2009, and the fact that he was one of two assistant coaches retained by Pete Carroll speaks to how highly Bradley is regarded in coaching circles. The Seahawks led the league in scoring defense this season, allowing 15.3 points per game. They were seventh last season.

The Eagles are looking for a new coach after firing Andy Reid earlier this week. The team was also granted permission Friday to interview Colts offensive coordinator and interim head coach Bruce Arians.
