RENTON – By virtue of their first-round trade with Denver, the Seahawks are set for what could be a busy few hours as the draft resumes with the second and third rounds.

Seattle picked up an additional third-round pick – No. 94 overall – by trading back from No. 26 to 31 on Thursday. That gives the Seahawks three picks in the third round (Nos. 90 and 97 are the others) in addition to their second-rounder (No. 56). And those three third-rounders are within a span of eight selections, which could lead to a frenetic few minutes in Seattle’s draft room (and the media room).

One position that seems like a good possibility for Seattle today is defensive tackle, a need after the Seahawks lost long-time starter Brandon Mebane in free agency. General manager John Schneider even said that defensive line was the other position Seattle considered in the first round before taking right tackle Germain Ifedi instead. Alabama’s A’Shawn Robinson and Jarran Reed, Baylor’s Andrew Billings and Florida’s Jonathan Blullard are among the top defensive tackles still available.

Another trade is a possibility with one of Seattle’s second-day picks, as it always is with the Seahawks. Their trade with Denver Thursday marked the eighth time in seven drafts under Schneider that they’ve moved back. But with four picks today in addition to five over the final four rounds, the Seahawks have the draft capital to move up.

It would be rare as the Seahawks have only done so twice under Schneider, including last season when they moved up in the third round to take Tyler Lockett. But it would make sense when you consider that the Seahawks have nine remaining picks and that nine more draft picks might not be able to make a roster that is still one of the league’s most competitive.

The last of Seattle’s three third-round picks – No. 97 – is a compensatory pick, so it cannot be traded. The same goes for Nos. 171 and 215.

The second and third rounds should move much quicker than the first considering teams have three fewer minutes – 7 compared to 10 – to make their selections.

Here are the Seahawks’ remaining picks:

Round 2: No. 56
Round 3: Nos. 90, 94, 97
Round 4: No. 124
Round 5: No. 171
Round 6: No. 215
Round 7: Nos. 225, 247
