Will Golden Tate be out of the Seahawks’ price range?

The small fortune the Seahawks paid to Percy Harvin earlier this offseason meant the team would face tough decisions with some of its other wide receivers after 2013.

One of them is Golden Tate, who’s entering the final year of his rookie contract amid questions about whether or not the Seahawks will be able to afford him.

John Clayton doesn’t think they will.

“When you have $10 million a year … tied up in one receiver [Harvin] and then you’ve got $8.2 million tied up in another [Sidney Rice], can you afford and what can you afford to do with Golden Tate?” Clayton said during “Cold Hard Facts” Wednesday. “If he’s willing to sign in that $2 million or $3 million range — you’d have to think he’s wanting in the [$4 million range] and if that’s gonna be the case, he’s not gonna get it. So I don’t think he’s going to be on the team next year.”

Brock Huard and Danny O’Neil pick up the conversation there, sharing their outlook on Tate’s future beyond 2013 in the video below.
