A new video posted on The Players’ Tribune website shows Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson talking about the final play of the Super Bowl, how he’s dealing with the disappointment of Seattle’s loss and more.
The video is prefaced with some text – under Wilson’s byline – that begins with how the game has been weighing on him.
“One yard. I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been thinking about that one yard for the past 17 days,” it reads. “Everyone wants to know how I feel. Well … it’s complicated. Walking off that field in Arizona and seeing disappointed Seahawks fans in the stands was anguish. How could I not feel like I let them down? I tried to be positive, but I’m not perfect.”
The video lasts over 4 minutes and shows Wilson speaking directly into the camera. Among other things, he talks about the importance of accountability.
“I think I can always do a better job of that,” he says. “I think I can always step up in that category for my teammates and just for myself and for the people around me. Super Bowl XLIX, I take full responsibility for it.”
