RENTON – Too soon to joke about the Seahawks’ blunder on the decisive play of Super Bowl XLIX? Not to Marshawn Lynch.
Seattle’s running back does so in a cameo appearance on “The League”, an FX show about a group of friends who are avid fantasy football players. You can watch the clip in the embedded video above.
Lynch has been on “The League” before. The executive producers of the show are Seahawks fans and wanted an encore.
“We are Seahawks season ticket-holders and we had so much fun having Marshawn on last year that we had to do it again,” Jackie and Jeff Schaffer told Entertainment Weekly. “If the Seahawks had won the Super Bowl, it was going to be a parody of the ‘I’m going to Disney World!’ ads. As you may have heard, that did not happen. So after we cried ourselves to sleep for the next month, we knew what the scene had to be about…”
According to the Seahawks, general manager John Schneider is also set to make a cameo on the show in its upcoming season, which premieres Sept. 9.
