-Pat Kirwan of the NFL Network has Matt Hasselbeck at No. 22 in his list of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, right below David Garrard and just ahead of Chad Henne.
Kirwan: “He had seven touchdowns to one interception in the playoffs and still has some tread left on the tires. He’s a free agent and hopefully he stays in Seattle. His 11 postseason games, including a trip to the Super Bowl, is the kind of experience a team will need if the lockout goes deep into the summer.”
-Percy Allen of The Seattle Times has the full schedule for the Washington men’s basketball team. The schedule was announced Tuesday and is highlighted by December games against Marquette and Duke at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
-Geoff Baker of The Seattle Times writes that while Mariners third baseman Chone Figgins is struggling at the plate, the team doesn’t have a better option to replace him in the No. 2 spot in the lineup. Baker explains why Franklin Gutierrez, Adam Kennedy, Jack Wilson and Dustin Ackley wouldn’t be better options to replace Figgnis.
As noted in Shannon Drayer’s blog, manager Eric Wedge said Tuesday that he’s keeping Figgins in the two-hole for the time being.
-ESPN.com’s Mike Sando notes that according to Mike Tanier of Football Outsiders, the 2006 trade that sent Deion Branch to the Seahawks for a 2007 first-round pick was the 10th most disappointing trade of the past 25 years. The list is comprised of trades that hurt both teams.
-Adam Anshell and Eric Edholm of Pro Football Weekly say the Rams make sense as a potential landing spot for wide receiver Randy Moss.
