Bucs rookie linebacker Mason Foster could be looking at a hefty fine for an illegal hit in Thursday’s preseason game against New England.

He might not have to worry about paying it, though. The player who was on the receiving end of the hit — New England’s Chad Ochocinco — congratulated the former Husky and offered to pick up the tab on any potential fine it may incur.
Here’s their Twitter exchange:
Ochocinco: “great hit last night,if u’re fined I’ll reimburse u boss. That’s the way the game should b played.Stay healthy n have a good yr”
Foster: “thanks Bruh I appreciate it, goodluck to you too”
The play came in the first quarter of New England’s 31-14 win. Foster dislodged the ball from Ochocinco on a deep pass over the middle, causing an incompletion. The hit drew a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty, apparently for helmet-to-helmet contact. Here’s video of the play.
