BROCK AND SALK

Who’s Your Hawks Running Back

With Brock out of the office today Ray Roberts was nice enough to come by the studio and do an extra hour this week for the show. He and Salk talked extensively about the ‘Hawks running back situation as well as the front seven on the defensive side of the ball.

Ray was high on the future of all three of the running backs on the roster, Julius Jones, TJ Duckett, and Justin Forsett. Specifically he sees Jones as the type of guy who could have a breakout year because of the qualities he has as a runner, and as a result had this to say on our air about him,

“He has the quickness, he has the ability to run between the tackles a little bit, but he also has the vision to be able to stop on a dime and cut back, find a whole on the backside and then have some speed to get down the field.”

Also regarding the teams backup RB TJ Duckett, Roberts felt confident in saying,

“Duckett is a great changeup to that because he more of a downhill runner, even though he does run a little light sometimes for a big guy. But I think it is a good changeup for the speed and quickness that Jones can have vs. what Duckett brings.”
