Brock and Salk: An important start for Mariners’ James Paxton

Before landing on the disabled list in early May because of a forearm issue, Mariners left-hander James Paxton had a 1.43 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP and a .190 batting average against over his first six starts to begin the season.
In five starts since then: 6.56 ERA, 1.84 WHIP, .323 average against. Those numbers are even aided by a brilliant outing from Paxton in his first start back off the DL, when he allowed three hits with no walks over 5 1/3 scoreless innings.
In the video above, Brock Huard and Mike Salk discuss Paxton’s recent struggles and say that it would be indicative of a serious issue if he has another rough outing tonight against Philadelphia, whose .242 team batting average is second-worst in all of MLB.
