Following the Huskies from Orlando

I’m following the Detroit Pistons this week as it turns out. I’ll be on ESPNTV tomorrow afternoon 4 Pacific with Orlando and Detroit. The Pistons are blowing up. They have lost 8 straight. Rip Hamilton an all star has been coming off the bench. The record with Rip subbing is 4 and 12…starting 17-16. “I said as long as we were winning I’d come off the bench. But we’ve been losing. Something has to change.” Michael Curry the coach says nothing will change tonite. Allen Iverson left the game Wednesday with a sore back. Jon Barry should have plenty of dysfunction to talk about on the broadcast tonight. JB once played for this team.

I arrived in Orlando around 5 Pacific with the intention of watching the Huskies and ASU battle for first in the PAC. Now it’s rare that hotels have FSN affiliate feeds on their modest television selections. There are three ESPN channels but no FSN games. And it’s this way everywhere in America. The PAC 10 simply needs to get itself seen. Too beat to head down to a sports bar , I followed the game online. Boy that’s thrilling. With the PAC 10 presidents have to find a commish who can put this together with the worldwide leader. And yes, I work for the mouse. Should the Huskies prevail and win the conference regular season they would likely be a 3 to 5 seed and play the opening rounds of the tournament in Portland.
