Mariners announce 2017 spring training schedule, reporting dates

With the World Baseball Classic taking place next year, spring training will start earlier. Mariners pitchers and catchers will report to Peoria on Feb. 14, with the position players to follow on Feb. 18. The first full squad workout will be Feb. 19 and the annual charity game against the Padres will be played Feb. 25.

The Mariners will play 37 games this spring, 20 of while will be at their spring home, the Peoria Sports Complex. Highlights include five night games (three at home), back-to-back road and home games against the World Series champion Chicago Cubs on March 9-10, four games against the Rangers, three against the Angels and A’s each, and postgame fireworks March 31.

Once again the team will wrap up spring training with two games against the Colorado Rockies on March 31 at 6:40 p.m. in Peoria, then April 1 at 12:10 p.m. at Salt River Fields. The team will then travel to Houston for the regular season opener against the Astros.

There will be a special presale of spring training tickets for Mariners season ticket holders and Mariners.com registered users on Dec. 3-5. Single-game tickets go on sale to all fans, online only, on Saturday, Dec. 10.
