RENTON – Jimmy Graham is one of five players the Seahawks list as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Jets, but coach Pete Carroll said the tight end has worked through the back issue that he was dealing with earlier in the week.
Graham was listed as a full participant in practice Friday after being limited Wednesday and sitting out Thursday.
“He had a little back spasms that kind of slowed him down a little bit, so he worked on it, got it taken care of,” Carroll said. “He had a really good day today. He was full today.”
Right guard Germain Ifedi will make his NFL debut after missing the first three games with a high-ankle sprain, which is good news for an offense that is fairly banged-up heading to New York. Quarterback Russell Wilson is playing with knee and ankle sprains, Thomas Rawls is out for several weeks and fellow running back C.J. Prosise is listed as questionable. Tight end Nick Vannett is also listed as questionable, Carroll saying it will be a game-time decision as to whether or not he plays.
Seattle has two defensive starters listed as questionable, linebacker Mike Morgan and defensive tackle Jarran Reed. Both are listed as having hip injuries, but Carroll described Morgan’s as a sports hernia, saying it’s the same thing that he had examined by a specialist in Philadelphia during training camp. Morgan was limited in practice all week.
Carroll wouldn’t specify who would start at strong-side linebacker if Morgan can’t play; Cassius Marsh would seem to be the likeliest option.
“He looks like he can play this week, but he’s struggling to get through the week, so we have to take care of him,” Carroll said of Morgan.
Reed was limited Thursday then sat out Friday. Carroll said he’ll be a game-time decision. If he can’t play, Tony McDaniel would presumably start at the other defensive tackle-spot alongside Ahtyba Rubin.
Carroll was noncommittal about newly-signed running back C.J. Spiller playing Sunday. He’s only been with the team for two days and said Thursday that he was “swimming” trying to get up to speed. Seattle could need him Sunday, though, with Rawls out and Prosise questionable.
