The Huskies will be without one of their most versatile and explosive players in 2015 as John Ross will miss the season due to a leg injury he sustained last month.
The school made the announcement Thursday. Its press release doesn’t specify the nature of the injury, only noting that it’s to Ross’ leg and that it was sustained during a spring practice last month. It also notes that Ross will has three remaining seasons of eligibility as he has yet to redshirt.
The injury is a big blow for Ross as well as the Huskies, who have already lost a great deal of talent from last year’s team to the NFL.
Ross has played wide receiver and cornerback in addition to returning kickoffs and punts for the Huskies. He scored seven touchdowns last year, six of which were from 55 yards or longer.
Additionally, the school’s press release noted that cornerback Jermaine Kelly is transferring to another program.
