MLB released the tentative 2017 regular-season schedule Wednesday morning and once again the Mariners will open on the road with a four-game series in Houston beginning April 3. They will then head to Anaheim for a three-game series before heading to Seattle for their home opener on April 10 against the Astros.
The AL West will match up against the NL East in interleague play, which will bring the Marlins to Safeco Field in April, the Phillies in June and the Mets at the end of July. The home-and-home “natural rivalry” series with San Diego is not on the schedule. Instead, the Mariners will play a two-game home-and-home series with the Rockies at Coors Field from May 29-30 and at Safeco Field from May 31-June 1. In addition to Colorado they will travel to Washington D.C., Philadelphia and Atlanta for interleague games.
Perhaps the most challenging stretch will come during a four-city, 12-game road trip to Tampa, Atlanta, New York and Baltimore from Aug. 18-28 with an off day on Aug. 24 in New York. The longest home stand is from May 31-June 11.
The Mariners will finish the season with 25 games against the division in September. The season will end on the road for the first time since 2012 with three games in Oakland and then three in Anaheim from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.
The Mariners’ tentative 2017 schedule, which does not yet include game times, is below.
