Jon Morosi, a national baseball writer for FOXSports.com, thinks the Mariners should at least consider trading ace Felix Hernandez, telling “Brock and Salk” on Friday that they can’t be afraid to make what might be an unpopular move if they want to close the huge gap in the AL West.

“When you look at the Angels and the Rangers, you’re going to have to finish ahead of at least one of them to make the playoffs,” he said. “Are the Mariners anywhere close to being on that level of either of those two teams? The answer is no.

“To me, if I’m sitting in [general manager Jack Zduriencik’s] chair, I would put Felix out there. I’m not saying I would trade him necessarily, but I would see what kind of interest you could get in him.”

Mike Salk is open to that idea, but on one condition.

He explains what that is in Friday’s Wrap Up video.
