CLEVELAND – It’s a day game after a night game and early day game at that, so here are just some quick notes before the Mariners take the field. Hopefully.
There is rain in the forecast throughout the day, but according to my cab driver this morning, “Cleveland is Cleveland. Anything can happen.”
That is the truth. In my time traveling with the team, we have had an entire series snowed out here, a few rain delays and one earthquake. So we shall see today.
Lineup!
Norichika Aoki, LF
Seth Smith, RF
Robinson Cano, 2B
Nelson Cruz, DH
Kyle Seager, 3B
Adam Lind, 1B
Leonys Martin, CF
Steve Clevenger, C
Ketel Marte, SS
Nathan Karns, RHP
Notes
• Another game, another tough day for batters with runners in scoring position. For both teams. The Mariners managed just three hits Wednesday night, but the pitching more than held its own. Over the last five games, Mariners pitchers have held the opposition to just three hits in 50 at-bats with RISP.
• Here are the pitching probables for the next series in Anaheim: Felix Hernandez vs. Nick Tropeano on Friday, Hisashi Iwakuma vs. Hector Santiago on Saturday, Wade Miley vs. Matt Shoemaker on Sunday.
