Left-handed relief pitcher Lucas Luetge was recalled Friday by the Mariners from Triple-A Tacoma.

Luetge started the season with the Mariners, but was optioned to the Rainiers after posting a 18.00 ERA in two appearances. In four appearances for Tacoma, he went 1-0 with a 5.79 ERA and one save.

The 27-year-old Luetge has made 100 career appearances since 2012 for the Mariners with a 4.58 ERA.

Luetge was called up a day after the Mariners sent down infielder Nick Franklin and right-handed pitcher Erasmo Ramirez. Seattle also called up outfielder Cole Gillespie from Tacoma on Thursday.
