The Apple Cup will move back to being played on a Saturday in 2014, Washington State athletic director Bill Moos said Monday, as reported by The Seattle Times.
The Cougars will host Washington in Pullman on Nov. 29, marking the first time since 2011 that the Apple Cup will be played on a Saturday.
The annual rival clash was played on the Friday after Thanksgiving in both 2012 and 2013. The Pac-12’s added conference championship game limited the number of available weekends and television timeslots, pushing the Apple Cup out of its usual date, the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
