Seahawks Football 101: Star rookie Tariq Woolen up to the challenge
Nov 8, 2022, 4:15 PM
Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolen has himself in the NFL Rookie of the Year conversation, and that is certainly apparent after he went toe to toe with one of the best wide receivers in the game in Week 9.

Woolen spent some of the game covering star Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, and that included one eye-popping play in coverage that forced Arizona to punt in the second quarter.
That play goes under the microscope this week in the latest edition of Seahawks Football 101 with former NFL linebacker and current Hawks radio color commentator Dave Wyman.
Wyman breaks down what was so impressive about how Woolen knocked down the third-and-4 pass from Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray over the middle intended for Hopkins, and as usual he also shares some extra thoughts about the team as they take a 6-3 record and lead in the NFC West into a Week 10 showdown in Germany this coming Sunday.
You can hear Wyman on the broadcast, which is set for a 6:30 a.m. kickoff Sunday back home in Seattle, on Seattle Sports 710 AM, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM and the rest of the Seahawks Radio Network.
Don’t forget to catch him during his day job on Seattle Sports’ Wyman and Bob, which airs from 2-7 p.m. each weekday, as well as The Huddle from noon to 2 p.m. live from Seahawks headquarters each Thursday (during weeks when the Hawks have a Sunday or Monday game that isn’t overseas, that is).
