SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Welcome back, Marshawn: A montage to get ready for his Seahawks return

Dec 24, 2019, 1:04 PM

Marshawn Lynch has reunited with the Seattle Seahawks.

The 3 Questions: How much will Marshawn’s return impact Hawks?

The 33-year-old running back is coming out of retirement for the second time to suit up for a Seahawks team that absolutely needs someone like him in a backfield that has been decimated by injuries over the past three games.

First was Rashaad Penny, whose breakout second season as a pro was interrupted by an ACL tear in a Week 14 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Then in Week 16 was a devastating one-two punch: C.J. Prosise broke his arm, and shortly after starting running back Chris Carson suffered a fracture in his hip.

Just like that, Seattle’s top three tailbacks were all out for the season.

Enter Beast Mode.

Lynch picked up the phone, hopped on a plane, went through a physical, and for the first time since 2015 he is set to play a game in Seahawks uniform.

To get everybody ready for a monumental return Sunday at CenturyLink Field against the San Francisco 49ers – in a game that will decide the NFC West championship, no less – 710 ESPN Seattle’s Jessamyn McIntyre put together an audio montage featuring clips of Lynch’s greatest moments, comments from his teammates and coaches over the years, and a few goosebumps-inducing quotes from the past two days as it became clear Lynch was coming back to Seattle.
