The 2020 NFL Draft has concluded, but now the Seahawks and the rest of the NFL have shifted their focus to those who weren’t drafted in the draft’s seven rounds on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Breakdown: A look at all 8 players picked by Seahawks in NFL Draft
And while the three days came and went without WSU quarterback Anthony Gordon’s name being called – though one of his top targets, receiver Dezmon Patmon went 212th overall to the Indianapolis Colts in the sixth round – fans of Gordon’s will be excited that he’s staying in the state and signing with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent.
Shortly after the seventh-round ended, NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero reported that Gordon will be signing with Seattle. Washington State’s football program followed up to confirm.

Gordon isn’t the only local player staying in the state with the Seahawks. UW Huskies wide receiver Aaron Fuller also signed with Seattle.
The Seahawks made 14 UDFA signings official Sunday: Gordon, Fuller, RB Anthony Jones, RB Patrick Carr, WR Seth Dawkins, TE Tyler Mabry, OL Tommy Champion, DT Marcus Webb, DT Josh Avery, DE/LB Eli Mencer, S Chris Miller, CB Gavin Heslop, CB Kemah Siverand and DB Debione Renfro.
In his one season as the Cougs’ starting quarterback, Gordon excelled in then-head coach Mike Leach’s Air Raid offense. He set both WSU and Pac-12 records with 5,579 passing yards in 2019, and he also found the end zone regularly, throwing 48 touchdown passes all while completing over 71% of his passes. He has a chance to be the Seahawks’ backup quarterback in 2020 behind Russell Wilson.

The Seahawks had no quarterbacks on their roster aside from Wilson as 2019 backup Geno Smith remains unsigned in free agency, so adding a quarterback either in the draft or in undrafted rookie free agency was a likely possibility for Seattle.
The Seahawks have gone the undrafted rookie route to find Wilson’s backup quarterback before. The last time that happened was with Trevone Boykin from TCU, who was Wilson’s backup in 2016 after going undrafted. He was also on Seattle’s practice squad for the 2017 season behind Wilson and current Seahawks running back coach Austin Davis.
Here’s a look at some announcements that were made Saturday of Seahawks additions:
