Hank Fraley will not be the next offensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks, according to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.

Pelissero reported Friday that the Lions are promoting Fraley to run game coordinator in addition to his prior duties as offensive line coach. Fraley has served as Detroit’s O-line coach since 2020 and spent the two previous seasons as an assistant offensive line coach.
Fraley was an offensive lineman in the NFL for 10 seasons, playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns and St. Louis (now Los Angeles) Rams.
Fraley was one of three known candidates to interview twice for the Seahawks’ vacant offensive coordinator job. The others are New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and Minnesota Vikings assistant quarterbacks coach and chief of special projects Grant Udinski.
Seattle has also reportedly interviewed Bears interim head coach Thomas Brown and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich for the job. Brown will not return to Chicago after it hired former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as head coach.
Another interesting potential candidate to be Seattle’s next offensive coordinator became available on Friday. The Houston Texans parted ways with offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, who interviewed for the Seahawks’ head coaching vacancy last offseason before the team hired Mike Macdonald.
Slowik has spent the past two seasons leading Houston’s offense and has strong connections to the vaunted Shanahan coaching tree. He previously served in various offensive assistant roles under Kyle Shanahan with the San Francisco 49ers and was a defensive assistant under Mike Shanahan with the Washington Commanders from 2011-13.
The Seahawks are in search of their third offensive coordinator since 2023 after they let go of Ryan Grubb after only one year as the play-caller.
