Top Huskies’ recruit Hunter Bryant predicts end of skid vs Oregon

The University of Washington’s big-name recruits are full of confidence and Eastside Catholic’s Hunter Bryant is no different.
So when it comes to the Huskies’ 12 straight losses against the University of Oregon, the four-star tight end said the drought will not only stop next year, but that a new streak will begin.

“They’re definitely not going to beat UW in the next at least five years,” he told “Justin and Gee” Tuesday. “They should have lost last year, too.”
The 6-foot-3, 240 pounder turned down offers from football powerhouses including UCLA, Penn State, Auburn and Oklahoma, but decided to stay with his hometown school to join a young, talented offense that includes stud sophomores Myles Gaskin (running back) and Jake Browning (quarterback), plus junior wide receiver John Ross.
Bryant said the atmosphere within the program helped the Huskies win the recruiting battle.
“I just like UW,” he said. “The whole coaching staff, the feel there and like the family that they have there – I didn’t really find that in any other school, and that was one of the main things I was looking for.”
And while the major stress of choosing a school is done, that hasn’t stopped the calls.
“Some colleges are still calling me, and still like hitting me up and seeing if I want to de-commit from UW and all that,” he said. “It’s definitely been a lot less stressful since I committed.”
