Jarrod Dyson is out of the Mariners’ lineup Sunday after crashing into the wall in center field the night before, though the Yankees will start southpaw Caleb Smith and Dyson regularly sits against left-handed starters.
Guillermo Heredia will take over in center for the 1:10 game on 710 ESPN Seattle, which is the finale of a four-game series against New York.
“I kind of jammed my toe a little bit, so it’s day-to-day right now,” Dyson said after Saturday night’s 6-5 Mariners win. He left that game the following inning after crashing into the wall trying to track down a triple by Garrett Cooper.
On the mound for Seattle will be veteran right-hander Yovani Gallardo in a return to the roation after a month in the bullpen.
