Seahawks’ Okung, Unger and Chancellor should play Friday

If the third exhibition game is like a dress rehearsal for the regular season, then the Seahawks should have most of their starring cast available.
Coach Pete Carroll told 710 ESPN Seattle’s “Brock and Salk” on Monday that three starters who missed Thursday’s game against San Diego have a good chance of making their preseason debuts Friday against Chicago. Left tackle Russell Okung (foot), center Max Unger (groin) and strong safety Kam Chancellor (hip) should play if all goes according to plan this week in practice.
“They are so anxious to be back part of the team,” Carroll said. “It’s taken seemingly a long time.”
Seattle’s linebacker corps has been down three members during training camp, but Carroll said Malcolm Smith (ankle) and Korey Toomer (hamstring) will return to practice this week. Bruce Irvin (hip) could be back as soon as next week, Carroll said. Irvin and Toomer are both on the physically unable to perform list.
“It feels good to start to get these guys coming back,” Carroll said.
