Seahawks’ Bruce Irvin inactive against Broncos

Bruce Irvin hasn’t exactly gotten off to an ideal start as he played a limited role in the opener and then committed a costly personal-foul penalty last week.
He’ll have to wait at least another week to get his season on the right track as he’s inactive for today’s game against Denver, sidelined due to a rib injury that the team says he sustained Wednesday in practice.
Coach Pete Carroll said Irvin would a game-time decision after missing missing practice Thursday and Friday. He was the Seahawks’ only real injury question mark heading into their Super-Bowl rematch with Denver.
As expected, tight end Zach Miller is playing after returning to practice on Friday from an ankle injury.
Among Seattle’s inactives are tackles Garry Gilliam and Andrew McDonald, so the Seahawks will only dress seven offensive linemen. Alvin Bailey and Stephen Schilling are the available backups.
Seattle’s inactives: CB Tharold Simon, RB Christine Michael, DE/OLB Bruce Irvin, OT Andrew McDonald, OT Garry Gilliam, WR Kevin Norwood, DE Greg Scruggs.
Denver’s inactives: WR Cody Latimer, CB Tony Carter, LB Lerentee McCray, LB Danny Trevathan, G Ben Garland, OT Michael Schofield, DT Mitch Unrein.
