Huard’s Chalk Talk: Offense’s issues were more than a lack of Lynch
Marshawn Lynch wasn’t the only key piece of Seattle’s offense that had a minimal impact in Sunday’s loss to Dallas.
Six touches for Percy Harvin resulted in a net loss of 1 yard. One of those plays – a bubble screen that the Seahawks ran in the red zone in the first quarter – is the subject of this week’s “Chalk Talk” with Brock Huard.
The situation: First-and-10 from Dallas’ 14 on Seattle’s opening drive.
The play: It was foiled before it could ever really get going. At least before Harvin could get across the line of scrimmage. A missed block allowed a Cowboys defensive back to bring down Harvin for a 1-yard loss.
The statement: “We played hard and they didn’t really do anything that we weren’t expecting,” tight end Luke Willson said when asked about Dallas containing Harvin throughout the game. “… It’s just one of those things where it comes down to executing.”
