A few statistical notes on what was a record-setting day for Seattle’s running game in the Seahawks’ 38-17 win over the Giants:
• Seattle’s 350 rushing yards broke the previous franchise record of 320, which was set in 2005 against Houston. It was the third time the Seahawks have topped 300 yards rushing in a game in franchise history.
• This was only the sixth time since 2000 that an NFL team has rushed for 350 yards or more in a game and the first time since 2012, when Kansas City ran for 352 yards against Indianapolis. Seattle’s total ranks 23rd in league history.
• Seattle’s five rushing touchdowns tied the franchise mark, which was also set against Houston in 2005.
• Seattle’s 7.78-yard average on 45 attempts was the highest of any game in franchise history in which the Seahawks ran at least 40 times.
• Marshawn Lynch (140), Russell Wilson (107) and Christine Michael (71) gave Seattle three players with at least 70 yards rushing. According to The Elias Sports Bureau, it’s the first time that’s been done since Jacksonville did it in 2006.
• Wilson now has three 100-yard rushing games this season. According to The Elias Sports Bureau, Michael Vick (2004 and 2006) is the only other quarterback since the 1970 merger with three 100-yard rushing games in one season.
• Sixty-four of Wilson’s rushing yards came via zone-read runs, according to ESPN Stats & Information, which was the most by a quarterback this season.
